Teemu Hirvilammi

Teemu Hirvilammi, Architect SAFA,visiting professor, university instructor.


Hirvilammi is an award-winning Finnish architect focusing on widely sustainable architecture.

He works in practice via his own studio, Hirvilammi Architects, and is also a Visiting Professor at GDUT and a University Instructor at Tampere University.

In his teaching and reseach he is focusing on multistory timber and bamboo housing in urban context.


Most significant projects are Kuokkala Church (LHA), House H, House K and the New Art and Cultural Center to Seinäjoki, Kalevan Navetta.

Previously accomplished projects have been widely published in international media: including A+U, Wallpaper, Monocle, Archdaily, Dezeen. He has been awarded with with Pietila Prize for architecture, with Red Dot award, Mies van Der Rohe shortlist and Tunnustuspaanu – Finnish architectural association prize for ecology.

He has been invited individually or a part of a group to several exhibitions, including Lousiana Art Museum, Shenzhen biennale and 6 times to Venice Biennale.
