I can already consider myself as a senior designer with over 25 years’ experience in the design field. After finishing my BA in Industrial Design in 1996 and working in design for two years in my mother land Mexico, I applied to a Master’s program in Finland. During the Masters, I had real industry projects with successful outcomes such as Nokia, Aarikka, Euroluce, Unikulma and Control Express oy. From these projects a working opportunity jumped with Aarikka, which employed me during 6 years. As we said back in Mexico: “It was a great cultural bath!” After this I got a job in Shanghai in a Design College as a full time lecturer and later promoted as full time program director and degree leader. Among my duties, I was in charge of program management, lectures and external activities such as jury member in design competitions. In 2010, I came back to Finland to open an enterprise with sustainable design orientation. In 2017, I was recommended and invited to work as a foreign lecturer at the Guangdong University of Technology. Since then I have been giving public lectures, classroom lectures and workshops for BA students in Guangzhou, China. Also my lectures and workshops have been continued online since 2020.
